GS How The Pragmata Unknown Signal Secret Ending Works

Pragmata is a game chock-full of secrets. From exclusive rewards for completing Red Zones to alternate paths you can take across each and every sector, you only get a taste of the complete game if you follow the main story's path. Of course, regardless of how much time you put into your first playthrough, the story eventually comes to an end. While you might think that's the end of your adventure with Hugh and Diana, there are a couple of additional ways to continue playing. One of these ways is through Unknown Signal--an extension of your save file in Pragmata.

Unknown Signal acts as a type of secret ending in Pragmata, but there are some things you need to know before you take it on.

What is the Unknown Signal feature in Pragmata?

To unlock Unknown Signal, you need to have beaten the Pragmata main story at least once. After seeing the credits roll, you'll get a couple of in-game messages at the main menu that explain the next steps you can take with the game. One of the new features you have access to is New Game Plus, which restarts the main story but allows you to keep all of your upgrades and gear. The enemies will be much tougher in this version of the story, giving you a new challenge to overcome.

However, the other feature is called Unknown Signal, and it works differently from New Game Plus. Instead of starting the story over, Unknown Signal places you back in the Shelter right before your encounter with the final boss in Pragmata.

When you choose to play Unknown Signal with your finished save file, you can use the Tram system to visit an all-new location at the Cradle called the "Hidden Chamber." This location has no immediate ties to the story you've experienced so far in Pragmata. Instead, it acts similarly to the training simulations that Cabin offers at the Shelter during the main story.

The Hidden Chamber offers 10 unique challenge simulations that are accessed via Sim Pods. However, not all of these Sim Pods are available to enter when you arrive at the Hidden Chamber for the first time. To enter a Sim Pod, you need to 100% complete a specific sector on Pragmata's map. This requires you to find every Earth Memory, Safe Box, Mod, and all other exclusive rewards in a given sector, as well as complete all Red Zones. You'll also need to defeat every sector's Mk. II boss, which are upgraded versions of the main story bosses.

After gaining 100% completion in a sector--which you can track by visiting the tram system and viewing the possible rewards in each sector--and defeating every boss again, you'll gain access to a new Sim Pod at the Hidden Chamber.

Entering a Sim Pod is a challenge in and of itself, as they are tougher versions of training simulations that require you to defeat difficult enemies under a wide variety of circumstances. However, they are not timed, so you don't need to clock watch to finish the challenge.

How to get the secret ending in Pragmata

When all 10 Hidden Chamber simulations are completed, you can head back to the Shelter to find that a new room has opened up. Inside this room, you'll discover a mod called the Black Box Mod. You need to equip this mod at the tram system and then go to the final sector, Central Port, to fight the Mk. II version of the final boss. The secret room will also contain some new weapons you can use in this fight.

After defeating the final boss with the Black Box Mod equipped, the regular ending will roll like the first time you fought the boss. This includes your quick-time encounter with the secondary final boss. However, after the cutscenes have played at the final stage of the ending, you'll get some extra dialogue and a new, surprise cutscene.

If you've played through the entirety of Pragmata, you'll immediately know what this new cutscene means in terms of how the story played out this time around after completing the Unknown Signal ending, but we won't spoil that for you here.
